After spending three nights at Krista's apartment, and being fawned over by two insatiable cat lovers, George thought he had it pretty cush. Krista fed him nothing but Albicore Tuna and Mackerel fish. She was determined to spoil George in any way possible, to the point of leaving the air conditioning on all day because Krista thought George looked really cute snuggled up in a ball next to the AC unit. For a few days, it was kitty decadence through and through, but when the party ended, George thought I was the most unfair person on the planet when I put him back into his carrier and into the car again. The complaining and angry pacing in the car went on and on. George wasn't scared, he was just extremely miffed that I scooped him out of paradise and into the car. The potholes and stop and go NYC traffic only made George more aghast.
After getting out of the city, I stopped at a strip mall and let George get out to stretch his paws. Under normal circumstances, this would not be a problem; he is a people pleaser, and usually comes running when I call his name - not yesterday. This time, George stepped out of the car, turned around to give me the stink eye and ran to the guy a few spaces over that was working on his car. I don't think this guy liked cats much... but George, thinking he is irresistable, ran up to him, meowed, and jumped right into his car. I think George was trying to replace me. He obviously wasn't afraid of traveling in cars, he just wanted to show me that he could do better! After apologizing to the nice gentleman and prying George out of his car, I checked into the motel and gave George some "me" time. You really don't know anyone, not even your cat, until you travel with them.
